Love Was Always Enough

Originally created for Marshall's debut institutional solo exhibition ; 'Cursebreakers' at the De La Warr Pavilion in collaboration with Flatland Projects in 2021, this is the second piece of a large linocut triptych.

Love Was Always Enough

Handprinted Linocut, Ink on Japanese Paper, 289 x 193 cm

As 'Borderline Love' before it shows the story of a relationship, of two people; 'Love Was Always Enough' centers around ideas of community, from mob mentality to sisterhood. The narrative is intended to read from bottom to top, with the final panel showing a state of relief as a burning girl is soaked in water.
